In a recent press release Carole James and the BC NDP have stated that they would halt any further development of coalbed methane until community and environmental concerns were addressed. They also added their support for the Citizens Concerned About Coalbed Methane's five-point plan for a safe CBM future in British Columbia.

The BC Liberals have not shown any signs that they see anything wrong with the way that they have proceeded with trying to develop CBM in BC.
